Cockatiels Make excellent companion parrots when hand reared, second only to the Budgerigar. They are native to and found all over Australia. The Cockatiel's lifespan in captivity is between 15–20 years. They come in many different colours. Males are definitely the best talkers and whistlers but females tame down just as well and make excellent pets. My cockatiels are fed a good quality seed mix, pellets, fresh fruit and veg daily.

Blue Throated Conures - Pyrrhura Cruentata
One of my favourites, these beautiful conures originate from the Atlantic rainforest in Eastern Brazil. The full blue throat colour intensifies in their 2nd year or when they reach maturity. They are smart, quiet and inquisitive birds and make wonderful hand reared companions. They can live up to 30 years.

Black Capped Conures - Pyrrhura Rupicola
Native to the Western Amazon basin from Peru to Bolivia, these pretty conures are one of the quieter conure species sharing the same affectionate, inquisitive and playful personality as the Green Cheeked or Pearly Conure. The Black-capped Conure is said to be more laid-back than most conures but they have also been described as timid with new people. They love human companionship and can be taught a few words, phrases and tricks. They are cuddly birds and most seem to thoroughly enjoy cuddling whenever their favourite human is available.
