My husband has made a few of these “all natural” wooden play gyms over the years for our hand raised babies to play on. Our birds absolutely love spending time on them chewing on all the bark, hanging upside down and swinging off them (especially our conures). In the past, we have had so many people enquire about our home made play gyms that we have now decided to start taking orders for them.

The perches come from the native paper bark and eucalyptus trees that are growing on our property. The wood from these trees is fairly soft, chewable and shred able but best of all, completely non toxic to birds. We do not use paints or glues on our play gyms. Once the play gym is finished we spray it with a bird mite spray then leave it to dry ensuring that there are no nasties previously living in the wood.

Perches are screwed together and not nailed making them much stronger for even the toughest of beaks! The base is made of a solid wood which ensures a good strong foundation to hold everything together restricting too much movement. Best of all, they are easy to clean!

We hang lots of parrot safe toys on our play gym at home and the odd ladder or two making it a fun adventure for all our hand raised birds to play on.

Our play gyms are all “one offs” with no two made the same.
